All food business operators are required to provide a documented Food Safety Management system based on HACCP principles and to register their food business with the local authority.
The food safety team protect public health and will help and support food businesses to comply with the law. They also ensure standards of hygiene and safety are maintained by inspecting premises and providing advice and information to business and consumers about food standards. Cases of food borne illness and food complaints in the community are investigated.
