GP Surgeries

GP surgeries offer a range of services, including district nursing, pysiotherapy, podiatry, midwives, practice nurses, speeech therapy, dieticians and community psychiatric nurses.  They also provide other outreach services, which vary from surgery to surgery.  Each surgery has a leaflet that sets out all the service they provide.

Your GP also provides contraceptive and emergency contraceptive advice, and testing for sexually trasmitted infections.

If you've moved area or are on holiday

If you live in Britain, and you've moved to a new area or are on holdiay, you can get temporary registration with a GP who covers the area you are now living in.  This will enable you to have day-time housecalls, if necessary. You can register with them properly if you are going to be living in the area for an extended period of time.
