Outreach youth work and community safety
Community safety activities include outreach youth work and local youth cafés.
Outreach work is primarily street-based and provides a service response to young people in their own territory rather than in more traditional settings.
Projects work in close partnership with Youth Justice, Police, Housing, Community Support Officers and have an active role in contributing to the Council's anti-social behaviour strategy.
The role of the outreach youth worker is to develop and sustain meaningful links with young people identifying and responding to real issues.
Young people have the choice as to whether they want to engage with outreach youth workers or not.
