| The Homelessness team |
The department of Community Housing and Property Management has its headquarters at Penston House in Macmerry and is split into five sections with responsibilities for:
Estates - including estate management, valuation, property sales and aquisitions.
Projects - comprising architectural, surveying and engineering services, project and programme management. Bothe the Projects and Estates teams are based at Penston House in Macmerry.
Community Housing and Property Maintenance - which involves repairs management, the housing Direct Labour Organisation and the Community Housing Service (which is responsible for housing management).
Homelessness, Advice and Support
Housing Strategy & Development Services - which looks after the Affordable Housing Project, the Local Housing Strategy and Grants and is responsible for liaison with the regulator, Communities Scotland.

Within the Community Housing Service, housing management enquiries can be made through the area offices.
Property Maintenance can be contacted at their offices in Macmerry on 01875 618682. This number should not be used for tenants maintenance enquries, which are handled through the Council's contact centre on 0845 6022223.
The Homelessness Unit is based in the Sinclair McGill building in Lodge Street, Haddington. Public contact is via reception at 6-8 Lodge Street (01620 826600) and there is a freephone number for emergencies: 0800 169 1611. This will be answered either by the Homeless section, or out-of-hours by the contact centre.
Housing Strategy & Development Services can be contacted at Penston House in Macmerry, 01620 826600. This section also handles Grants enquiries.
The Throughcare and Aftercare team - formerly known as the Supported Accommodation Team - is now managed by ELC's Education and Children's Services and based at 6-8 Lodge Street in Haddington. It can be contacted on 01620 826600.
