Walking in the Lammermuir Hills

The Scottish Rights of Way and Access Society have sign posted and way-marked many of the popular walking routes in the Lammermuir Hills. They have produced a leaflet - "Walking in the Lammermuir Hills", which details these routes. The leaflet can be viewed or printed from the link on the right.

Many of the routes go through areas where grouse are reared and where sheep graze. So, if you have a dog please ensure that it is kept under proper control. Also during the Grouse Shooting Season (12 August to 10 December) there may be organised shoots happening in the hills.

As most of these walks are quite remote and exposed please make sure that you take adequate footwear, clothing and refreshments, as well as a good map.
