Description

The Child Brain Injury Trust is a UK organisation that aims to improve the quality of life for children who have an acquired brain injury (ABI).  These injuries fall into two broad types: ‘traumatic’ caused by accidents, falls or external blows to the head and ‘non-traumatic’ injuries such as strokes, tumours and infections.CBIT provides:

  • family and children support groups
  • holidays for the brothers and sisters of children who have ABI
  • easy-to-use and practical information for parents and professionals
  • telephone and e-mail helplines – 0845 6014939 (local rate; 24 hour answer machine) and Helpline@cbituk.org
  • education videos and CD Rom for parents and professionals about education for children with ABI
  • money: small grants for children and young people with ABI and their brothers and sisters
  • story books for children
  • conferences and training seminars for parents and professionals
