Description

Do you look after someone who is an older person, has a physical disability, is frail, has an illness, has a learning disability or mental health difficulties or an acquired brain injury?  If so, you are a carer.  But you may not recognise yourself as a carer – many see themselves as just doing-what-they-have-to-do. Carers of East Lothian are there to recognise the important work that you do and to give you help if you want it.  They provide:

  • information on all aspects of caring
  • help with claiming welfare benefits – money that you may be entitled to
  • support in your caring role on an individual basis or through a group where you can meet other people in a similar situations
  • social events, training courses, and leisure opportunities
  • a chance to have a say in how local services are provided.
Opening Hours

Carers of East Lothian's office is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday to Friday.  You are welcome to phone or call in any time during these hours.  You can also make an appointment to meet with a worker, either in the office or in your home.
