Valuation Rolls
Years covered: 1855 - present, on microfilm & microfiche. Contents: a record of each household, its address, use made of premises, proprietor, tenant, tenant's occupation, valuation.

Census Returns
Census enumeration books for years 1841-91 held on microfilm. Contents: a record of each household, its address, its members, their ages, occupations and parish of birth.

Old Parish Registers
Held on microfilm. Years covered: approx. 1650-1854. A record of births, marriages and deaths, with occupation of parents and names of witnesses often given.

International Genealogical Index (1988 edition)
Held on microfiche. A selective index of christenings and marriages, giving date, names and parishes for each. All counties of Scotland are included, each listed separately by surname.
Mormon Index to Old Parish Register
Held on microfiche. Index of christenings and marriages recorded in the Old Parish Registers in the counties of East Lothian, Berwickshire and Midlothian, each listed separately by surname and giving date, names and parish for each transaction recorded.Many of the above records are only available on microfilm/microfiche. It is therefore essential to book time on the microfiche/film reader if you wish to consult these records. Bookings can be made by phone or in person.
