SCRAN (which stands for Scottish Cultural Resources Access Network) is a web-based resource consisting of digitised images and text from archives, libraries and museums across Scotland. East Lothian has been one of the leading participants and the site contains material from three locally based projects - seaside holidays in East Lothian, seaside holidays in Scotland, and social and economic history of East Lothian 1700-2000.
New content is currently being created by two further projects based with East Lothian Museums Service (link) - on the themes of Self Help in the Lothians (e.g. Friendly Societies, Co-ops) and Scottish East Coast Fishing. A 'treasures of the collection' project will digitise some of the rarest and most interesting items in the Local History Centre.
East Lothian Museums Service website also hosts a digitised resource about Tranent - Coal, Co-op and Community.
