The Council and its partners have a long term strategy – the 2020 Vision – for protecting and nurturing East Lothian, so that it continues to be one of the most desirable places to live, in the UK.

East Lothian Community Plan 2007 – 2016 demonstrates how the Council and other public sector agencies (for example, Health and Police) work together for a better East Lothian. The Plan also details how local communities can influence how services are delivered.

(Draft) Single Outcome Agreement. Like other Scottish local authorities, East Lothian Council submitted a draft Single Outcome Agreement (SOA) to the Scottish Government in April 2008. This is effectively a contract between the Council and the Government which specifies how each will contribute to the achievement of local and national priorities. The SOA will be finalised in June 2008.
