What grants are available?
Five grant programmes were identified as part of the Dunbar THI. These are:
1. Tenement Scheme
2. Building Repair
3. Shop Fronts
4. Public Realm
5. Three Priority Projects: McArthurs Stores
                                         The Town House
                                         Abbey Church

How do I apply for a grant?
In the first instance, please contact the Dunbar THI Project Officer to discuss your project and pick up an application form and guidance notes.

What additional information does the Dunbar THI need to make a decision?
After consultation with the THI officer, applicants will be required to complete an application form. In addition to this, however, additional documents may be required, depending on your project. These are:

  • Detailed plans outlining the proposed works;
  • Full costs for the intended repairs;
  • Development appraisal (for development projects);
  • Photographs (minimum three good quality prints or transparencies);
  • Copies of any other offers of grant funding;
  • Pre- and post-works valuations from qualified professional;
  • Details of competitive tendering of contractors (NB: at least THREE contractors MUST be invited to tender for the works);
  • Details of all owners (for tenements);
  • Business Plan (if applicable - priority projects only).

Applicants may wish to employ a professional building surveyor to help them through the application process.
