Rosie's story

Rosie is a 12 year old girl who lives with her parents, older brother and 2 younger sisters. Rosie had a brain tumour when she was very young, and although treatment was successful, she has been left with a mild learning difficulty.

Rosie has lots of interests like roller blades, animals and swimming, but she needs help and some supervision to take part in any activity.

It can be difficult for Rosie’s parents to give the other children as much attention as they would like, or to take part in different activities with them, as Rosie gets restless and can demand attention.  It would make a huge difference to the whole family if Rosie had a carer who could get to know her and spend time with her either after school or at a weekend, or even during school holidays.  This would help to broaden Rosie’s interests as well as giving the rest of the family the chance to do other things.

Rosie is generally good natured and happy, but can be moody, and needs someone with the patience to tune into her moods and boost her self confidence.  Share the Care could make a real difference to Rosie and her family.
