Have you got what it takes to care?
tom
Tom's story

You need to be an optimistic and young-at-heart carer, who can give Tom a warm and caring home.  You might be someone whose own children have grown up and left home.

Tom is an attractive, lively 10-year-old boy who is able to give and receive affection.  He has a strong sense of fair play.  He tries hard to please and do the right thing.  If he were to live in a positive and caring environment, he would thrive.  He enjoys a variety of activities, such as skateboarding, cycling, swimming and listening to music – he is musically talented.  He is eager and willing to attempt new activities and in his own words he’s ‘up for anything’. Because he missed out on so much attention in his early life, he will continue to need lots of attention for some time.  He would do best where he is not in competition with other children within a family.  He is unable to live with his birth Mum and continues to struggle with loyalty issues, which can leave him confused and angry.

We’re looking for someone with life experience.  You need to be able to offer this exceptional young person a long-term commitment.  He will need to be the youngest or the only child, so that you can give the attention that he needs to build trust and attachment. You family will need to be patient and resilient to get Tom over his fear of rejection.
