| East Lothian Council strives to deliver quality services in a quality environment. |
In order to continually improve councils are required to measure performance against a number of national indicators, know as Statutory Performance Indicators. These indicators act as a tool for managing and monitoring performance. Since all Scottish councils must produce these they provide a sound basis for comparison. Audit Scotland will make comparative information available towards the end of 2007.

East Lothian Council must also make this information available to the public. To fulfil this obligation, we have published a leaflet called
How We Perform.
This leaflet is available from council offices, libraries and other council facilities.
