Smartcards are now available in all the public libraries in East Lothian.
Students in secondary schools are using their smartcards to access the school library service, they can also use them in the ELC public libraries if they are members.
East Lothian residents who have the new Concessionary Travel card can also use it as their library card.
The Library Internet Service has been implemented, visitors to the website can now search the library catalogue, reserve books, renew books and check their borrower’s record on-line.
A sub-project to replace the Libraries Community Information Database has been completed. The Online Database of Community Organisations is now live.
Members of staff who are currently library members can now use their staff smartcard as their library card.
If you are not a member of an ELC library, you can apply to join at any of these locations, if you are under 26 you can also apply for a Young Scot card at the same time.
