Tell us your projects for the coming term and we will provide you with a range of resources to support your teaching.

Click on the link to the right to download a request form.

Books
Your project box will consist of books, which are modern, attractive and accessible.  The collection supports all major aspects of the curriculum from People who help us to Magnets and Electricity. A team of experienced librarians select books according to quality and durability.

Scotland and East Lothian Collections
We have a wide range of Scottish material –books, CD-Roms, DVDs- covering Scotland’s culture, history, geography etc.  This collection includes Scottish literature for young people, both modern and traditional.  Our East Lothian collection is a range of books, leaflets, maps and videos to help pupils learn about their own heritage.  Most books are aimed at adult level, but we select resources with many photographs and illustrations.

Audio-Visual Materials
We understand the need for different formats - let us know if you would like related videos, DVDs, CD-Roms or picturepacks for use in the classroom.

Artefacts
Our artefacts make learning fun.  We have chicken costumes, firefighter uniforms, chain mail, glove puppets, vintage newspapers, Victorian toys, and lots, lots more.

Healthy Eating
We have packs of resources to support healthy eating promotion in schools and nurseries.  These include teaching support materials and plastic food models.

School Visits
Make a date with your local library – staff in our branches are delighted to receive school visits.  Tell us:

  • when you want to visit
  • number of pupils attending
  • topics you are researching
We can organise a story time session for your class and staff will be on hand to help your pupils select appropriate books.
