About Tranent Marriage Room

Tranent is a former small mining town situated approximately 10 miles
east of Edinburgh. The Registrars office is situated within the Council office
building and has access for wheelchair users and the disabled.

The marriage room is accessed from the rear of the building and there is a
small paved area where photographs may be taken. Alternatively
photographs may be taken in front of the building at the statue of one of
Tranent’s historic figures “Jackie Crookston”, or at nearby Polson Park.

The room itself is very bright and tastefully decorated and can comfortably
seat 36 guests. Music is also provided. To view the facilities please call
into the office during office hours or alternatively telephone 01875
610278 for an appointment.
