The Community Housing Service does not tolerate anti-social behaviour by its tenants and will take all necessary action to deal with neighbour nuisance.
Examples of bad behaviour include:
* Playing loud music at unsociable hours
* Late night parties
* Car repairs in the street or abandoned cars
* Nuisance caused by animals
* Racial, sexual and other forms of harassment
* Violence
* Drug dealing
* Rubbish dumping
Tenants are bound by the clearly defined conditions set out in their tenancy. It is in the interests of all tenants that these are adhered to. Every neighbour nuisance case is different but housing officers treat all of them seriously. A summary of our policy can be found in the documents list on this page.
In addition, as all residents of East Lothian have a right to live in peace and be treated with respect, the Council has developed a strategy for dealing with Anti-Social behaviour, also to be found amongst the documents listed on this page.
