Castle Rock and Edinvar Housing Associations merged to form Castle Rock Edinvar Housing Association on 1st August 2005 bringing Castle Rock Housing Association into the Places for People Group.

Castle Rock Edinvar's two main subsidiary companies are Places for People Scotland - Care and Support which provides care and support services and Lothian Homes which manages private retirement and sub-market rent properties as well as other affordable tenure options. The key aims for Castle Rock Edinvar are to:

  • Provide and continuously improve the range and quality of services to customers.
  • Provide high quality homes for people in housing need which are affordable to live in and which offer the greatest possible choice to tenants and other customers.
  • Provide homes in clean, safe and attractive neighbourhoods within sustainable communities.
  • Continue to develop new homes and consider other opportunities for business development.
  • Provide customers with every opportunity to participate in informing and shaping service delivery.
  • Invest in people and be considered an "employer of choice" by staff.
  • Be efficient in the use of resources; in particular ensure financial efficiency and strong performance.
  • Give a high priority to Equality and Diversity issues in its operations, management and governance.
