East Lothian's Housing Advice partnership is an unique collaboration between providers of housing and housing-related advice. It encompassess many providers and grew out of a report by consultant, Bob Widdowson, which examined how delivery of housing advice and information could be improved in the county.

This area of the HAR is under development and will provide:

* Documents relating to advice provision in East Lothian
* Information about providers and their services
* A forum for discussion of current issues
* News about the Housing Advice Partnership
* Links to research and Scotland-wide debate about advice provison

The main providers of independant information and advice on housing are Shelter's East Lothian project, the two Citizens Advice Bureaux, Women's Aid, and the Bridges Project.

In addition there are many other organisations which provide information and advice,
and a Directory which lists the kinds of advice given by most organisations, and to what level, can be found here.
