The East Lothian Child Protection Committee is the primary strategic planning mechanism for inter-agency child protection work in East Lothian. It is a multi-agency group with representation from East Lothian Council, Lothian and Borders Police, NHS Lothian, the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration, the voluntary sector and others who have a key role in delivering services for children and young people in the county. It works effectively with the planning structures that affect the protection of children, both within and between agencies. It links closely to integrated children's services planning and Community Planning and is a key local inter-agency body, which drives the delivery of the child protection agenda in East Lothian.
