Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places
Representation of the People

The Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places (Parliamentary Elections) Regulations 2006

In accordance with the above regulations (in force 1 January 2007), East Lothian Council is conducting a review of polling districts and polling places with regard to UK Parliamentary Elections. The Returning Officer has made comment on proposed polling stations.
A full review of polling districts and polling places was conducted last year, in compliance with legislation requiring the new local government multi member wards, therefore the existing arrangements will form the basis for this consultation.
Electors within East Lothian Constituency, which encompasses the whole of East Lothian Local Government Area, are invited to make representations, in writing, on these arrangements. East Lothian Council also welcomes comments from any persons or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability. Any persons or bodies making representations should, if possible, give alternative places that may be used as polling places.
A map of current arrangements, list of electors, the Returning Officer’s comments and East Lothian Council’s Disability Equality Scheme can be viewed at Main Reception, John Muir House, area offices at Brunton Hall, Musselburgh; Aldhammer House, Prestonpans; Civic Square, Tranent; Quality Street, North Berwick; High Street, Dunbar and East Lothian Council’s website www.eastlothian.gov.uk
