Hear about Witchcraft in 17th Century East Lothian

Longniddry Library will welcome historian, David Robertson, who will be giving a talk on Monday 5th May 2008 at 7.00pm. David is an experienced historical writer and his book Longniddry, which was published by East Lothian District Libraries in 1993, was particularly popular with local residents and has now completely sold out!

More recently he has brought all his experience and local knowledge to the subject of witchcraft and has had published a comprehensive account of witchcraft called Goodnight My Servants All.

David's visit to Longniddry Library offers a chance to hear about East Lothian and witchcraft which arose in East Lothian during the reign of James VI and events which followed a great storm which nearly sank the king's ship in the Forth. It is a gruesome topic which still fascinates many today.

Why was East Lothian so closely involved? David's book contains a litany of incredible stories about our area. It is the most comprehensive and readable account. Come along and hear all about it.

Places are limited so book your free tickets now! Longniddry Library, Church Way, Longniddry, EH32 0LW Tel. 01875 852735, email: longniddry.library@eastlothian.gov.uk
