Working with children and families

We are hoping to recruit more Support Carers during Foster Care Fortnight who can offer weekend respite once a month to children living at home but who need some extra support. Could that be you?

We would welcome applications from couples and single people with or without children.

Tom and Kate have been support carers since their daughter was 5 years old. Tom has a full time job and Katie works part time. Over the past five years 3 boys and 1 girl have enjoyed support care placements with Tom and Kate.

"Being a support carer is different to being a full time carer but is just as rewarding and fits in with our life. Our family have enjoyed getting to know the children placed with us. One boy came every 4 weeks for over 2 years and he enjoyed joining in our weekend routine."

Is this something you could do?

Why not phone the Family Placement Team and find out more? Tel: 01620 82 7643 or check our website.
