There are many forms that pollution can take.

The Council has responsibilities to control several different sources of pollution and has contacts with other organizations to help tackle pollution that may be outside the Councils' remit.

Pollution of the air, water, contaminated land, drinking water and food are causes of concern and pollutants such as dust, odour, noise, radioactivity, toxic chemicals, litter and refuse can all be detrimental to our lives if not controlled properly.
