The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open

The Scottish Open comes to Gullane

Golf Map

The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open comes to Gullane from 9th to 12th July 2015. Gullane and the surrounding towns and villages are very much open for business during the tournament but there will be heavier traffic than normal at key times.

For spectators, we have agreed the following travel advice with Police Scotland and the event organisers, the European Tour.

Travel by road

Although there is no public parking at the course a public car park is located on the east side of Gullane. There will be a complimentary shuttle bus in operation from the public car park to the course (alternatively, the course is around a 15 minute walk from the public car park through the village of Gullane). Please use the identified routes below otherwise you may experience lengthy delays.

From the North, West or Edinburgh
Please use the A1 dual carriageway towards Berwick-upon-Tweed. Exit at the Oak Tree Junction, Haddington, and follow signs for Aberlady (A6137) and then follow the AA signs.

From the South (A1)
Follow the A1 towards Edinburgh. Exit at the Oak Tree Junction, Haddington, and follow signs for Aberlady (A6137) and then follow the AA signs.

From the South (A7, A68)

Visitors should follow signs to Haddington via the A6093, and then follow the appropriate AA signs.

Disabled Parking

Wheelchair users who arrive at the tournament will be able to park in Car Park 2. This will be signposted from the A198.

Blue badge holders, who are not wheelchair users, please proceed to the public car park where there will be an exclusive parking area at the front. From here a complimentary bus service, with mobility assistance, will take spectators to the public entrance.

Reserved Car Park Labels

We would also advise you to have any reserved car park label on display in your vehicle before you begin your journey. If you have a car park label, you should follow the route guidance for the public car park and then the AA signs to the reserved car parks.

Car Parks 1, 2, 3 and 4 are all located on the West side of Gullane, while Car Park 5 is adjacent to the Public Car Park, to the East of Gullane.

Parking in Gullane
Arrangements for short term parking to allow residents and visitors to be able to access local shops and services in the village will be provided. These will be signposted and stewards will be on hand to advise throughout the event.

Taxis and Drop offs
Any spectator arriving at tournament via a taxi or intending to be dropped off, needs to follow appropriate signs to the drop off point at Goose Green. The same location will act as a holding area for cars or taxis collecting spectators.

Travel by rail

There is a regular train service from Edinburgh to North Berwick and a shuttle bus will also operate from North Berwick Railway Station. There will be no transport provided between Drem Railway Station and Gullane.

Travel by bicycle

Cycle parking will be located within Car Park 2, close to the course.

Travel by air

The airports closest to Gullane are Edinburgh (30 miles), Glasgow (80 miles) and Newcastle (110 miles). All are served by most international airlines.
