Housing for Veterans

When you leave the Services

People who leave the armed forces have a range of Housing Options in East Lothian. In addition to the housing choices generally available, specific housing can be provided for ex-servicemen and women.

A range of independant charitable housing organisations exist and more information about the housing or help they offer can be found through the organisation, Veterans Scotland

Within East Lothian there are special housing units in Dunbar (2) Haddington (2) and Longniddry (33). As well, 221 properties are situated in Edinburgh. You can check their availability on the Veterans Scotland website.

In conjunction with the services, East Lothian Council has developed an Armed Services Covenant, which explains the Council's responsibilities towards ex-service men and women.

This Housing advice leaflet for veterans offers useful information.
