Get Connected Champions

A 'Get Connected Champion' is an organisation that has a commitment to inclusion and young people in the local area.

Achieving ‘Champion’ status enables organisations to send a positive message to young people with additional support needs that they are included, valued, supported, and will be treated fairly when they engage with the organisation.

East Lothian Council Museums Service

East Lothian Council Museums Service strives to offer activities that are accessible to everyone. Our staff and facilities are very welcoming and accessible (with more detailed information about accessibility available on our pages or by contacting us directly) and we welcome all children and young people, their carers and helpers.

We offer regular drop in craft activities often themed to the season of the year or our current exhibition and also offer activities and events during school holidays some of which may be bookable and offer a more in-depth way to explore, learn and have fun!

We would love to hear from you if there is a particular activity that you are interested in so if you would like to find out more or to chat about what we can do to meet the individual needs of your child or young person please do get in touch!

Children Inc

Children Inc works with families who have a child with additional support needs and we are working towards creating inclusive opportunities for children in East Lothian.

We have held social groups, parties, organised day trips and even supported families with small summer grants, to use towards days out and activities. This summer, the grants were used for adventure sports, activities in London, camping trips and even pet budgies!

Tranent Colts Para-Football Team

We are an award winning team that offers a friendly and supportive football environment, open to all children with additional support needs.

East Coast FM

East Coast FM offer young people with additional support needs the chance to try all of these things. We have numerous young people training awards and are to be awarded a Princess Training Award this year!

We have had many presenters with additional support needs and our station gives children more confidence and a chance to learn communication skills.
