Council Departments
Who we are and what we do
The Council's most senior official is the Chief Executive, Angela Leitch, who also heads up the Council Management Team (along with Executive Directors and Heads of Service).
The Executive Directors each head up one of the Council's three service departments:
Don Ledingham, Executive Director (People)
Responsibility for services focused on the needs of the individual, including children, young people, families, vulnerable adults and older people
Monica Patterson, Executive Director (Communities)
Responsible for services provided to citizens, including environment, planning and building control, landscape and countryside, housing, property maintenance, transportation, and trading standardsAlex McCrorie, Executive Director (Support Services)
Responsible for central services, including finance, information technology, human resources, legal services, customer services, policy and performance, economic development, cultural services, community learning and development and healthy living.
