Don't struggle with debt over the school holidays

Council Tax

At East Lothian Council, we understand that finances can be stretched at this time of year, but don't let yourself fall into debt.

Research shows that Halloween has become more of an event in the UK than it used to be and parents are spending much more on costumes and treats for the kids.  With the school holidays on the horizon too, managing your outgoings in October can be difficult.

If you are repaying debts, it is important that you stick to your agreed repayments and do not fall behind.  Make sure you prioritise outgoings and don't spend more than you can afford to.

Here at East Lothian Council, we want to make sure all of our residents get the help they need.  If you are concerned about paying your Council Tax or Rent, our Officers can help you to get your payments back on track and will also make sure you are getting all benefits you are entitled to.

If you have other debts, or are worried about managing a budget, we can contact other Agencies on your behalf to make sure you get the help and support you need.

Get in touch quickly and we'll do our best to help.  You don't have to deal with this alone.
