Get Going

Get Going logo

Eating well and exercising regularly can make you feel happier, more confident, sleep better, and feel more energised, not to mention helping you to achieve and maintain a healthy weight.

Encouraging your children to be physically active can also help prevent major illnesses, like heart disease, type 2 diabetes and some cancers, later in life.

Children should aim for at least 60 minutes of physical activity each day - this can be broken up throughout the day into 15 minutes here and 10 minutes there.

Is your child outwith a healthy weight? Why not encourage them to come along to Get Going? Get Going is a free and fun 8 week programme which is delivered by trained Healthy Lifestyle Coaches in community venues and leisure facilities.

The emphasis is on fun and feeling good and encourages the family to work together to make small, realistic lifestyle changes.
