Swimming Pool & Health Suite

Have lots of fun in the 25 metre swimming pool.  It's open daily for public swim sessions.

Unique to the Mercat Gait Centre is the spectator viewing area which provides excellent views over the swimming pool, making it a great location for swimming events and galas.

The Health Suite includes a sauna, steam room and access to the hydrotherapy pool. 

Hydrotherapy Pool

The hydrotherapy pool is a unique facility for people who required supported exercise as part of a rehabilitation programme.  Hydrotherapy has a healing and recuperative properties due to its thermal and mechanical effect.    Although not suitable for some medical conditions, it can help with reducing pain sensitivity, improving blood flow and circulation.

Hydrotherapy can be used to treat soft muscle weakness, balance disorders, muscle-skeletal injuries, soft tissue injuries and other conditions that impair circulation.

Bodyworks Gym

Give yourself a good workout at the Mercat Gait's Bodyworks Gym.  Located on the first floor there's a range of cardiovascular and resistance equipment as well as dedicated stretch and toning area. 

NB: In order to use the Bodyworks Gym, all visitors must first complete a Bodyworks Gym induction.  Once completed this will allow you access the Bodyworks Gyms across each of the Sports Centres.  Please contact your local Sports Centre for bookings.

Dance Studio

If your're looking to get fit but don't fancy the gym, why not attend one of a number of fitness and exercise classes available in the Dance Studio?   

Creche Service

The Mercat Gait Centre offers a creche service suitable for children from 3months to 8 years.  Your child will be looked after by trained professionals, while you enjoy your fitness activities.
