Isobel Stewart of Prestonpans is served with an ASBO which bans her from playing loud music.

A 49-year-old woman with a history of antisocial behaviour at her address in Prestonpans has been banned from disturbing neighbours by playing loud music at the property and also from visiting another street in Prestonpans where she had previously caused ‘alarm and distress’ to others.

An interim Antisocial Behaviour Order (ASBO) was granted against Isobel Stewart of 54G Middleshot Square, Prestonpans by Sheriff Celia Sanderson at Haddington Sheriff Court on Monday 19 November.

The court heard that Stewart has a history of anti-social behaviour including shouting, swearing, playing loud music and racially abusing others both at her own property and that of a friend at 33 Wilson Avenue, Prestonpans, from which she is now also banned.
A spokesman for East Lothian Council said:

Isobel Stewart has been issued with several warnings regarding her bad behaviour which she has ignored. The Council uses ASBOs only as a last resort but is determined to stamp out disruptive and distressing behaviour in our communities by selfish, inconsiderate people like Ms Stewart.
