Continued abuse towards council staff leads to man receiving ASBO

An Interim Antisocial Behaviour Order (ASBO) has been granted against Darren Quinn (24) of Ormiston Crescent West, Tranent following an application to the court by East Lothian Council.

A number of complaints were recorded about Mr Quinn’s behaviour towards East Lothian Council employees primarily at the George Johnstone Centre, Tranent but also at his property.

The terms of the Interim ASBO prohibit Mr Quinn from shouting, swearing, using intimidating, aggressive or abusive language or behaviour towards any employee of East Lothian Council, and also bans him from entering the George Johnstone Centre, Tranent.

East Lothian Council spokesperson said:

“Mr Quinn’s behaviour and actions towards East Lothian Council staff has been highly abusive and threatening and has caused considerable distress to both employees and other people in council premises. We do not tolerate such abuse to our employees who should be able to carry out their duties in a safe and non-aggressive environment.”
