Open Public Meeting on Thursday 10 March

Dunbar and East Linton Area Partnership are moving forward with their plans to enhance and develop Dunbar High Street and the surrounding conservation area and are looking to gather views at a public meeting on Thursday 10th March at 7pm in Dunbar Grammar School.

Those attending this event will be given an opportunity to learn about the work that has already taken place and will be encouraged to discuss their views on this with representatives from East Lothian Council, Dunbar Community Council, Dunbar Trades Association, local residents and others.

Pippa Swan, Area Partnership Chair said

“This is an issue that is high on the agenda of the emerging area plan for Dunbar and East Linton Area Partnership and it ‘s very important we take the views of the people who live and work in this area into account as we shape our future plans for the High Street and conservation area. Our plans will include developments around traffic, parking, street furniture and other issues such as a maintenance plan for the public infrastructure. This will build on all the very good work that has already been done and I would encourage as many people as possible to attend this event to let us have their ideas.”

Stuart Gibb, Area Manager said

“This is an exciting step forward for the Area Partnership as we have clear goals in our Area Plan that focus on promoting and enhancing the conservation areas and supporting local businesses to grow. This public meeting will help us to develop plans that will give the Area Partnership a chance to deliver change in a way that has not been possible before.”

Following on from this event there will be a small display in the foyer of the Bleachingfield Centre, Countess Crescent, Dunbar where people will also have an opportunity to give their views in writing. The display will be available between Friday 11 March and Sunday 27 March 2016.
