Improving criminal justice outcomes in East Lothian

The Draft East Lothian Community Justice Outcome Improvement Plan gives details of how community partners will work together to improve community justice outcomes for people and communities in East Lothian.

The plan is based on an assessment of data relating to offenders, crime levels and public perceptions of crime and offending in East Lothian.

We have put this plan online on the East Lothian Consultation Hub so that as many people as possible can have a look and give us their views. This feedback will be taken into account in finalising our plan.

As well as reducing reoffending in our communities, we think that early intervention is really important. Early intervention is about initiatives and supports that will divert people from offending in the first place or from reoffending, to achieve better life outcomes and opportunities. We think it’s really important for young people’s and adult offending,   Do you think our plan will help us deliver this key objective? Is there anything else you think that would help to contribute to reducing offending?

How well do you think the Outcome Improvement Plan will help to deliver our key objective of reducing reoffending? Is there anything else you would add in relation to actions to reduce reoffending?

To take part in the consultation, see the Draft East Lothian Community Justice Outcome Improvement Plan or visit your local council office or library and ask to see a copy.

You can share any feedback or comments you have on the Plan by emailing communityjustice@eastlothian.gov.uk or in writing to Community Justice Policy, East Lothian Council, Room 1.8, John Muir House, Haddington, EH41 3HA. The closing date for feedback is 2nd June 2017.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
