Joint Safer Communities and Police Scotland approach to antisocial behaviour

An Interim Antisocial Behaviour Order (ASBO) has been granted against Robert Watters (37) of Macbeth Moir Road, Musselburgh following an application to the court by East Lothian Council.

The court was presented with details of the alleged antisocial behaviour of Mr Watters which included excessive noise and disturbance and large numbers of visitors to his property who also caused disturbances.

The terms of the interim ASBO prohibits Mr Watters from behaving in a way that causes or is likely to cause alarm or distress to others and includes shouting and swearing in and around the property at Macbeth Moir Road.

A council spokesperson said: “The ASBO served on Mr Watters reflects the seriousness of his continued actions which have disturbed and distressed others within the Musselburgh community. East Lothian Council has strong antisocial behaviour policies in place to deal with actions that have negative effects on others and working in partnership with Police Scotland will continue to pursue legal options when considered appropriate.”
