Views wanted on community plan

Published Monday 24th July 17

East Lothian Partnership is inviting community groups and organisations to submit their views on a draft East Lothian Plan.

The plan sets out ways in which community partners working together can make a real difference for local people.

East Lothian Partnership consists of more than 20 organisations from all sectors to work together to improve the lives and opportunities of people in the area. Partners include East Lothian Council, Police Scotland, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, STRiVE, Skills Development Scotland, Scottish Enterprise, Edinburgh College, Queen Margaret University, VisitScotland, and Midlothian and East Lothian Chambers of Commerce. The East Lothian Plan will set out ways in which partners can work together to make a real difference for East Lothian people.

The Partnership is working with the Association of East Lothian Community Councils and STRiVE, East Lothian’s third sector interface, to encourage the involvement of community bodies in commenting on the draft Plan. Community groups that are not connected to these two organisations are also invited to comment.

To receive a link to the online survey, email the East Lothian Partnership at elp@eastlothian.gov.uk, including your name and the name of your community body. If you would prefer a printed copy of the survey to complete, call Christine Dora, Policy Officer – Community Planning at East Lothian Council on 01620 827104. Don’t forget to leave your name and address, and quote the name of your community organisation. The consultation will close on 5 September.

All comments received will be considered by the East Lothian Partnership as they finalise the Plan before the end of September.
