Fourth annual Landlord Report published by East Lothian Council

East Lothian Council has published its annual Landlord Report, which is available to view on the council website.

All social landlords are required to provide their tenants with information on how they are performing against the standards and outcomes of the Scottish Social Housing Charter. This fourth annual Landlord Report from East Lothian Council covers the period April 2016 to March 2017. It includes information which allows comparison of key performance over the previous four years as well as comparisons of performance against other similar sized local authorities. Comparison with the Scottish average is also included.

As in previous years, East Lothian Tenants and Residents Panel, the council’s tenants representative panel, has been involved in the working group developing the report.

Highlights include:

  • An increase in tenant satisfaction with our repairs service
  • A reduction in the average time taken to complete repairs
  • An increase in tenant satisfaction with opportunities given to participate in our decision making process

Councillor Jim Goodfellow, Cabinet member for Housing & Community Wellbeing said:

“This is my first year with responsibility for housing and I welcome this report which details our performance last year. I am pleased to note the improvements in repairs as this is a key service for tenants. I encourage tenants to read this report and provide feedback. Your comments and suggestions will help us review and continue to improve our housing services.”

Mark Ormiston, Chairperson East Lothian Tenants and Residents Panel, added:

“ELTRP is delighted to work in partnership with East Lothian Council to produce this report. The information in the report shows tenants how the council is listening to what tenants have said needs to be improved. I would encourage all tenants to read it and let the council know what they think of it.”

The Landlord Report for 2016-17 is now available to download, with printed copies available from local housing offices and libraries.

Anyone wishing to see the full published report for East Lothian Council, or any other social landlord in Scotland, can access this via the Scottish Housing Regulator website.
