The council is now making arrangements for the enrolment of pupils to the first year of primary education in August 2018.

If your child’s date of birth is between 1 March 2013 and 28 February 2014 he/she is eligible to start school in August 2018.

Parents and carers should enrol their child at their catchment school before Friday 17 November 2017. Parents and carers should check with the school direct on which days to attend to do so.

You will also need to bring:

• Your child’s birth certificate
• Your most recent council tax assessment letter
• A utility bill dated within the last six months
• If you are enrolling at a Roman Catholic school, you should also provide proof of Catholic baptism (if applicable)

Although most children attend their catchment school, parents may make an application for any other school under the management of East Lothian Council.  Such a request is known as a non-catchment placing request. The closing date for non-catchment placing requests is Sunday 24 December 2017. Any requests received after this date will still be considered but an early application is advisable.
