Published Friday 10th November 17

Behavioural concerns led to legal action

An Interim Antisocial Behaviour Order (ASBO) has been granted against Carol Hanson (41) of King Street, Musselburgh following an application to Edinburgh Sheriff Court by East Lothian Council.

The court was presented with details of the alleged antisocial behaviour of Ms Hanson which included shouting and fighting with visitors to her property, repeatedly slamming doors and dumping items of rubbish within the shared stairs and common garden area.

The terms of the ASBO prohibits Ms Hanson from behaving in a way that causes or is likely to cause alarm or distress to others and includes repeatedly banging or slamming doors and shouting and swearing. She is also prohibited from allowing more than two visitors at any one time to her property except for people who are there for the course of their employment.

A council spokesperson said:

“The interim ASBO served on Ms Hanson has resulted from a number of complaints from neighbours who have been disturbed and alarmed by her behaviour and of visitors to her property.”
