Report of the Scottish ministers examination of proposed LDP now available

The report of the examination by the Scottish Government of the East Lothian Local Development Plan is now available.

The proposed Local Development Plan was submitted to Scottish Ministers on 4 May 2017 so that they could consider unresolved representations to the plan. In their examination the Scottish Ministers considered all 41 issues arising from unresolved representations identified by East Lothian Council to the Proposed Local Development Plan.

In each case the Ministers took into account the original representations, the council’s summaries of the representations and responses to them. The examination of the proposed LDP also included some site inspections and requests for additional information from both the council and other parties.

A number of conclusions and recommendations have been provided for East Lothian Council to adopt and all those who submitted representations will be informed that the examination has been completed and the report is available to view.

Cllr Norman Hampshire, Cabinet member for Environment, said:

“East Lothian Council received a total of 441 submissions from individuals or organisations to the proposed LDP. This final stage of examination by Scottish Ministers, which considered the 41 unresolved issues, now enables us to finalise the LDP.”
