Celebrating Sport 2011

East Lothian Council is organising a celebration of sporting achievements in East Lothian 2011 and is seeking the public's help in nominating both individuals and teams who they think deserve recognition of their sporting success.

There are six different categories for nominations and include Sports Person of the Year, Young Sports Person (two awards for male and female) of the year, disabled Sports Person of the year, Sports Volunteer of the year, Team of the year and Coach of the Year.

Cllr.Ruth Currie, Cabinet member for Community Wellbeing said:

"East Lothian has both individuals and teams who have achieved considerable success at county, regional, national and international level. We want to recognise and celebrate these achievements and are inviting nominations for a range of sporting categories. An independent panel will judge the nominations received and all finalists will be invited to a celebratory event early in 2012."
