Ian Robertson (East Coast FM) interviews Cath Purdie on autism and being a carer for someone with autism. With Lisa Shine and Jane Ogden-Smith

The East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership (ELHSCP) held a half-day event on 25th April 2016 at the Brunton Hall, Musselburgh to raise awareness of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in East Lothian and review the East Lothian Autism Strategy 2015.

People with ASD, parents, carers, practitioners and advocates attended the event, at which we covered the national and local perspective. One of our key speakers was Cath Purdie, who spoke about her experiences as the carer of someone with autism.  As part of the awareness raising for the event, Cath gave this interview on East Coast FM.

Lisa Shine is a policy officer with Children's and Adult Wellbeing at ELHSCP.

Jane Ogden-Smith is ELHSCP's communications officer.
