Welcome to the East Lothian Local History Centre. We're based in Haddington but hold records relating to the whole of East Lothian: from Dirleton to Whittingehame, and Musselburgh to Oldhamstocks.

Whether you're doing family history research, writing a local history book or want to find out who once lived in your house we should be the first place you visit.

We don't promise that we have the answer to every question, but our collection is the best place to try and find it.

Booking microfilm/fiche reader

Because of heavy demand, it is essential to make a reservation before you visit.
