Local Housing Strategy

The Strategy for 2003 - 2013

Skip to pages in this document

Local Housing StrategyEast Lothian Council's Local Housing Strategy (LHS) lies at the heart of efforts to address the area's housing challenges and deals with all housing issues across all housing tenures.

The overarching strategy for housing in the area, the LHS provides the framework through which housing providers and investors can more effectively meet needs and demands from available resources. It also establishes key issues and priorities for housing and sets out an action plan outlining how these will be addressed by the Council and its partners.

The East Lothian Housing Partnership (ELHP) was established during February 2009 to oversee the development of the Local Housing Strategy 2012 - 2017 and monitor and evaluate the implementation of the Local Housing Strategy.

The Council has a plan in place for the period 2009/10-2013/14.
