Dunbar Town House

Dunbar Town House Museum is currently closed for renovation. We hope to reopen the museum in April 2012. The newly refurbished museum will feature fascinating long term and temporary displays about Dunbar and the surrounding areas suitable for all the family. We will also have a wonderful new education / learning room on the first floor. The building will be fully accessible with a lift and visitor toilets.
The historic Dunbar Town House was built around the end of the 16th century and was recently refurbished through the Dunbar Townscape Heritage Initiative.
East Lothian Council Museums Service and Dunbar and District History Society are delighted that their partnership will continue in the redeveloped museum. The History Society will continue to display old photographs of Dunbar and the surrounding area when the building reopens, giving a fascinating insight into the Royal Burgh's past.
Dunbar and District History Society will also have copies of local history documents and photographs available for study in their Resource Room by appointment and members of the Society will be on hand to answer any queries visitors may have.
