East Lothian Open Tennis Tournament

With 28 events, over 400 competitors and 800 matches played over seven busy days, the East Lothian Open Tennis Tournament is one of the largest open tennis tournaments in Scotland.
A truly international event, it regularly attracts competitors from the USA, Spain and Germany as well as players from all over the UK and local clubs.
The Tournament, which began in 1920, has greatly increased in popularity, and matches are now played at two venues - North Berwick Tennis Club and Dunbar Tennis Club - both of which have six excellent all-weather courts.
To add to the fun, social events (ranging from a pub quiz to a ceilidh) run late into the evening throughout the Tournament.
2009 marked the Tournament's 80th year and, for the first time ever the event started on a Sunday, with a new under 9's orange event and the ever popular Mens over 45 doubles catergory. The main tournament sponsor was again Yonex, with the Macdonald Marine Hotel and Spa, Scotmid and Braveheart Boat Charters kindly providing discounts and vouchers to players and spectators.
The dates for 2010 are Sunday 18 July to Saturday 24 July.
