Local history

Maps are a valuable resource that help us find out how our ancestors lived. How far did they travel from home to work? Were they living at different locations at every census? Had they moved far? How big was the farm they worked on?

We have a large map collection that can be viewed by arrangement. A small set of maps are held on microfiche and can be viewed by booking a microfiche reader.
