Fairytales day at Prestongrange Museum
Published Friday 30th July 10
Are you sitting comfortably? Then I’ll begin…
Prestongrange Industrial Heritage Museum will be transformed tomorrow (Saturday 31st July) into a magical wonderland giving families the chance to enjoy a day dedicated to fairytales.
Visitors can help build the Three Little Pigs' homes with the East Lothian Countryside Ranger Service or take part in Bookstart Rhymetime sessions with staff from the libraries service.
Those who come in fancy dress can take part in a parade at 1.30pm where prizes will be available for the best dressed adult and child. There will also be a chance to make magical masks and hats to take home.
The Beam Engine will also be transformed into a world of fairytales - you'll be able to find all your favourite characters inside including Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood and the frog prince! Those who are brave enough can also take part in a Hansel and Gretel trail around the museum's grounds.
The event is free and takes place at Prestongrange Industrial Heritage Museum, Morrison's Haven, Prestonpams from 12.30pm-3.30pm.
